New Delhi: In India, Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, has expressed serious concern over incidents of vandalism and attacks targeting Christians during Christmas celebrations in different parts of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Chief Minister Lalduhoma in a statement posted on social media termed the incidents deeply distressing and said they were completely contrary to India’s constitutional values of fraternity, secularism and freedom of religion.
Lalduhoma said that the central message of Christmas is peace on earth and a reminder for all to live with understanding, tolerance and goodwill. He regretted that instead of harmony, Christians were subjected to intimidation and attacks even on one of their most sacred religious occasions.
