New Delhi: Member of India’s upper house of parliament, Rajya Sabha, Sajad Kitchloo has raised alarm over the harassment of Kashmiri shawl sellers inside India.
According to Global Mirror, Kitchloo while raising the issue at the floor of the house cited repeated reports of hostility towards Kashmiri shawl sellers. He deplored that the Kashmiris are living in fear while working inside India. He demanded basic security for people from occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Kitchloo said journalists critical of the authorities’ policies are facing harassment, and religious clerics are being profiled. He warned that ignoring the issues being faced by the Kashmiri people would have serious consequences.
