Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, employees of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation staged a massive protest, demanding immediate release of pending salaries and regularisation of daily wagers.

According to Global Mirror, the protesting employees said they have not been paid their wages for months, pushing them into severe financial distress. Raising slogans, they said the authorities ignored repeated appeals despite assurances given in the past.

Daily wage workers participating in the protest demanded a clear policy for their regularisation, saying uncertainty over their future has left thousands of families struggling to meet basic needs. They said delay in salaries has affected their ability to pay rent, school fees and household expenses.
