Srinagar: A prominent Ladakhi vlogger, Irfan Shalistani, was brutally assaulted and robbed in Naya Gaon, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Punjab, raising serious concerns about the safety of citizens from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir including Ladakh region traveling or working inside India.
According to Global Mirror, the attackers physically assaulted Shalistani, issued death threats, and forcibly looted over INR 30,000, in an incident the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) described as a targeted act of violence and intimidation.
The association said the attack reflects the growing vulnerability of individuals from IIOJK region in India, particularly those speaking out, creating content, or maintaining a public presence.
