Ukhrul: The situation in Litan area of Manipur’s Ukhrul district remained volatile today, with reports of gun firing and fresh incidents of arson.
According to Global Mirror, violence entered its third consecutive day as gunfire and arson were reported from the area, officials said.
On February 9, a team of legislators led by Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho visited Litan to assess the ground situation. The team held meetings with leaders of both communities and appealed for restraint to help restore peace. The deputy chief minister assured that those involved in the arson would be identified and arrested.
