Jammu, February 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has warned that the proposed Indo-US trade arrangement would severely impact the territory’s economy, particularly its horticulture sector.
According to Global Mirror, speaking to reporters in Jammu, Omar Abdullah said IIOJK’s economy is heavily dependent on products like dry fruits, fresh fruits and dairy, unlike coastal regions which benefit from marine industries.
“We have dry fruits, almonds, saffron, apples, kiwis and dairy products. We don’t have any marine industry. If all these items start coming duty-free from America, Jammu and Kashmir will definitely suffer,” Omar Abdullah said.
