Srinagar: More than 3.61 lakh households in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir are yet to be provided functional household tap connections, the authorities informed the Legislative Assembly.

According to Global Mirror, replying to a starred question tabled by MLA Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Minister for Jal Shakti Department Javed Ahmad Rana said out of a total 19,25,535 households in the territory, 15,64,171 have been provided tap water connections, while 3,61,364 households remain uncovered.

The district-wise data tabled in the House shows a wide variation in coverage across districts.
